The Ohio State Buckeyes had its first star player in 1916, when Chic Harley first lined up at running back. Harley led the team to its first ever victory over Michigan. Harley would be followed by stars like Jack Tatum, Archie Griffin, Chris Spielman and Eddie George. As is tradition since 1967, top performing players get a white buckeye leaf decal for their helmet for great play on the field.
